Please read below for answers to a few frequently asked questions:

What makes us different and why should you buy local rather than from a grocery store?

Well, that’s pretty simple. Because it’s FRESH! The produce and eggs from the store have been on a long journey and many times that produce is not even touched by human hands until it gets to the store to be purchased, and too often the items are treated and/or painted with chemicals. With us, you can rest assured we have cared specifically for each plant and have not used pesticides. We love being able to go out to the garden and pick fresh veggies and eat them straight off the plant, or pick them to eat that evening for dinner. That’s what I call fresh!

The same applies to our animals, because they each get the care they need and much more! Our animals all have names and are loved on every day! We have had so many people tell us how spoiled our animals are, and it’s true! We wouldn’t have it any other way!

And of course it is always better to buy local and support local farmers!

What kind of feed do our chickens eat?

They are fed a high quality non-GMO and soy-free diet of layer pellets and a variety of fresh fruits and veggies. And we love to give them treats such as seeds and mealworms. They also love to eat grass and whatever bugs they can find, of course!

Why are our eggs so many different colors?

We have spent many hours researching chickens and crafting a collection of chickens that will produce different colored eggs. We wanted the eggs to look like Easter egg baskets when we collect them every day, and they are so beautiful to see and it makes it super interesting to look at all of the variations in color. And they all have the same delicious taste! For more information on which chicken breeds we currently have, check out our Our Flock page.
